No word on pricing or release date yet, just this pic from the Good Smile Company Facebook page to get us pumped. The Figma is badass but OHMIGOD that Nendorid of tiny Snake with a little baby cigarette!
No, the above image is NOT a screen cap from Metal Gear Rising: Revengeance. It’s an action figure.

3A, known for their super-detailed, high end figures, will be releasing their Metal Gear Ray figure for pre-order on December 24 for $490. Metal Gear RAY made its debut in Metal Gear Solid 2: Sons of Liberty. According to MGS lore, these remote controlled Gears were designed to hunt down and destroy copies of Metal Gear REX after its plans leaked and engineers around the world built their own.
Fire Emblem: Awakening, $15 At Best Buy
Wow, this is a killer deal. Fire Emblem: Awakening is only $15 at Best Buy right now if you purchase it online. I don’t think I’ve seen this title at a lower price. The only thing is, you can’t ship the item to your house so it’s only available for in-store pick-up, which totally is 100% worth it at that price.
Play As Classic Snake in MGS V: Ground Zeroes
This new trailer for Metal Gear Solid V: Ground Zeroes reveals an exclusive PlayStation mission titled “Deja Vu,” in which players can play as the original classic Snake. Completely untouched by next-gen graphics, the original Snake looks hilarious and adds a nice exclusive feature to those with Sony consoles.
Konami Opens LA Studio
Kojima Productions recently opened up this lovely studio in LA to help develop Metal Gear Solid 5 and other upcoming games.
As gaming takes the world stage as one of the greatest forms of entertainment, it’s only natural for us to expand our operations across the globe. And since Los Angeles is ground zero for the best studios, facilities and world-class talent, we are leaning on of these local resources to build an incredible team to create gaming experiences that are just as compelling as any film or television show.
How amazing would it be to work at such a beautiful location?
Monthly Revoltech Report: Raiden
Whoah! The Monthly Revoltech Report is back? Sort of. Let’s take things slow. But anyway, this one’s a surprise. Revoltech figures are usually related to giant robots, but Raiden will launch in November and it frickin’ comes with a sliceable watermelon. Hopefully more Metal Gear Solid stuff will follow.
'Metal Gear' Solid Gets Geekapella'd
Max & Sam are back, this time lending their groovy man-voices to the MGS series for a tribute of tactical acapellic proportions.
It’s My Snake In A Box, Girl
Revoltech’s 25h Anniversary figure featuring Naked Snake aka Big Boss from Metal Gear Solid: Peacewalker is all sorts of banana biscuits. Sadly, it’s pretty much sold out everywhere, so you’ll have to pay stupid rude eBay prices if you want one.
Sexy Lady Snake Cosplay by Crystal Graziano
Obligatory joke about our snakes being totally solid or whatever. Pics by WHITEDARRYL.
Speaking of pretty girls in skimpy cosplay, did you hear that the ladies of 16 Bit Sirens are trying to raise awareness (Among other things i.e. weiners. Oh snap!) to how some cosplayers are mistreated at events?
Yes, it seems that just because a woman dresses like a whore
for attention to celebrate their fandom, or whatever other reason, it doesn’t mean that she actually is a whore! Allow the great Dave Chappelle to elaborate.
But for real, guys, if you’re groping up on chicks at cons, you’re a super creep and should be ashamed of yourselves. There’s never a good time to not act like a proper gentleman.
What Metal Gear Rising Should Have Been
Don’t get me wrong. Metal Gear Rising: Revengeance is a great game. But at the same time, it’s a missed opportunity. “Rising” seems to allude to the rising action that crescendos in Guns of the Patriots. Konami and Platinum should have taken this and run with it.
As soon as I saw Raiden as a cyborg ninja, taking apart a Gecko with his katana and feet, I needed to know the backstory. How did Jack the Ripper become the next Frank Jaeger? What happened between the brainfuck of Sons of Liberty and his cyborgification? Explaining that was the plan for Rising. But that got scrapped in favor of a story that took place after Guns of the Patriots. So we’re left wondering how Jack got his lightning bolt action.
Backstory is what Rising should have been all about, to the point that it could have been its own side-series to Metal Gear Solid. Everybody wants to play as Cyborg Ninja, AKA Grey Fox, AKA Frank Jaeger. Playing through the events of Metal Gear Solid as Grey Fox, eventually coming face to face with Snake would be amazing and could even serve to flesh out the other members of the cast like Vulcan Raven and Sniper Wolf.
And while she didn’t have quite as dramatic a transformation as Raiden did, I want to know what Meryl was up to between Ski-Dooing off of Shadow Moses and her “What happened to your face” run-in with Snake years later. While Raiden’s and Grey Fox’s games would be Devil May Cry style action games, Meryl’s could stick to stealth or maybe try something completely new.
Konami certainly aren’t averse to whoring out the Metal Gear series. So maybe this stuff could happen. But then again, Kojima needs to walk away from the series soon.
Solid Snake Amigurumi Plush
You know, I’ve seen a lot of these plushies on Etsy before, but this one really takes the cake for being a stray from the norm. It’s pretty easy making a Mario plush or a more recognizable anime or Nintendo character, but Etsy store PixelBlock decided to go above and beyond that and create awesome Solid Snake Amigurumi plushes. Kudos to them because this 5 1/2 inch plush is really badass.
