Hyperdimension Neptunia V Looks Hecka’ Weird

But weird in a good way.

This is the third installment of the Neptunia RPG series dropping March 12, 2013 for PS3. I never got to play the first two, but considering the series is about fan-service-y anime girl versions of popular video game consoles as they fight a literal console war, it’s pretty high up on my list of weird niche games that I need to play before I die.

It’s like someone took a bunch of things that I’m totally all about and crammed ‘em into an RPG. On the real, I want action figures of every single character from this game.

So, There’s Gonna’ Be A K-ON! Movie

It was only a matter of time, I suppose. Fuck the haters. I love the shit out of K-ON! and definitely teared up during a few episodes. Notice I said “teared up” and not “cried.” There’s a big difference.

The K-ON! movie premieres in over 130 Japanese theaters starting December 3rd and we’ll probably get a U.S. version straight to DVD/Blu-Ray a gazillion years later after anyone who cares has already pirated it.

Oh, U.S. anime localization. You so crazy.

Every PS3 Owner Needs To Buy Hyperdimension Neptunia!

Why? Because it takes place in the world of Gamindustry and features super-cute anime girls who are anthropomorphic versions of various video game consoles. The game will have you defending Gamindustry against the evil Arfore, which is a non-too subtle metaphor for the game industry’s fight against piracy aka products like the R4 aka the evil Arfore.

Oh, and you can use their video game console-y powers to load game discs and summon characters from games like Alex Kidd and Super Shinobi.

And did I mention the part about super-cute anime girls?

And the icing on the cake? There’ll be a collector’s edition with a 36-page art book.

Hyperdimension Neptunia will be available exclusively for the PS3 sometime this February from NIS America and pre-orders will be open soon over on Play-Asia.
