Super Swanky Wooden NES Controller Coffee Table

Built by the folks over at Bohemian Workbench, this NES controller coffee table is fully functional, Wii-compatible, and… oh yeah… $7,200. Yeah, we won’t be getting one of these for Albotas H.Q. any time soon.

New Hyrule Historia Cover Is Pure Class
Hey, listen! The book detailing the history of The Legend of Zelda just got a new and improved cover. I was able to flip through the Japanese version, and while I wasn’t super impressed, I’ll definitely be picking up the English version. The book more heavily covered the recent games and only had a few pages dedicated to the pre-N64 titles. I’d love to play a magic ocarina to travel back to 1985 and ‘86 while the original game was being developed, but since that’s probably not going to happen, I’ll settle for the few pages of insight this book provides.

NES Zapper Modded Into A Laser That Can Burn Your Eyeballs Out Of Your Skull [VIDEO]

The dudes over at North Street Labs decided (rightfully so) that the Nintendo Zapper would be infinitely more awesome if it could actually burn things. This is the results.

Check out instructions on how to make your own here. Just don’t go shooting your eyes out or setting your house on fire.

Video Game Art Made Out Of NES Controllers

Erika Iris Simmons uses the wires from old NES controllers to recreate classic video game characters like Mario, Link, and Pac-Man. This is part of her “Ghosts in the Machine” project where she recreates celebrities and various other pop culture icons using every day materials like VHS and cassette tape.

You can buy these pieces from Simmons’ site for $2,000. Or you could probably just buy some NES controllers and frames and make your own for way cheaper.

Digital Camo Nintendo Zapper
DeviantART user PrinceKaname teamed up with his dad to stencil the O.G. Nintendo Zapper into the manly digital weapon that you see above. They still probably have to cheat by holding it up to the screen when they play Duck Hunt, though. That game can get brutal.

Funky fresh Excitebike pixel graffiti by gameboyone. This is making me want to play Excitebike 3D for 3DS really bad right now. Also, the theme song is now officially stuck in my head and I’m perfectly okay with it.

If Only They Made ‘Big Lebowski Bowling’ for the NES

Jude Buffum made this series of 8-bit Big Lebowski prints for the North Bowl Lounge and Lanes bowling alley in Philly. The owner, Oron, digs Lebowski so much that his bowling alley is the official host of the Philadelphia Lebowskifest.

It bums me out that I live right outside of Philly and have never been to this place. It also bums me out that there isn’t really an NES Lebowski bowling game.

Kickstart This Shizz: GameDock Turns Your iDevice Into A Full-Fledged Retro Gaming Console

The GameDock aims to combine the more tactile controls of the iCade with the TV connectivity of a home console. This right here, this is the future of gaming, dudes. One device that can be played on the go or hooked up to a TV for maximum gameage. It also supports all the same games as the iCade, which is A LOT, so yeah.

So far, the GameDock has made almost $11,000 of its $50,000 goal and there’s 45 days left to turn it into a real thing that I can skip work and play with my buds.

Kickstart this shizz NOW!

So Much Want: Classic NES Edition 3DS

Sorry if I got your hopes up, but this throwback 3DS is just a fun mockup by Bjørn van der Linden, so don’t expect Nintendo to roll one out any time soon. But if they do, you can bet I’ll be first in line for one, then I’ll be first to complain when the 3DS Lite is announced a month later.
