Albotas Went to the Zelda Party: Part I
I freakin’ love NYC. There’s always something awesome to do. When we went to check out Rainbow City, we found out Nintendo World would be hosting a Zelda party the following day. The party was meant to celebrate the launch of the 3DS version of Ocarina of Time.
I was worried that I’d look like a kid-toucher, what with being a guy in his 20s at a Nintendo party. Luckily, the place was packed kids and adults alike (way over the fire limit, by the way). When we stepped into the store, we were handed a scavenger list of Skullturas scattered throughout the two stories. Some were surprisingly hard to find. After filling out the list, you could drop it into a treasure chest to enter a raffle for some Zelda merch.
There were some other cool Zelda-themed happenings, too. A handful of cardboard standees were placed here and there, replicas of the Master Shield, Deku Shield and potions were behind the bottom floor’s register, and a giant triforce stood on the top floor.
Places should do this more often. I got to shop and have a ton of adventurey fun. Be sure to come back tomorrow for Albotas Goes to the Zelda Party: Part II. We’ll have a video of the raffle up for your viewing pleasure. I’d post it right now but it’s taking forever to render.
