Hotline Miami Coming To PS3 & Vita This Spring

Hellz yeah! The ultra-violent, synth-pulsating, schizophrenic PC indie game from two-man team Dennation Games is making it’s way to PlayStation Network this spring.

In case you’re not familiar with Hotline Maimi, prepare to get your balls/ovaries rocked in twain by the live-action trailer below.

Hotline Miami is the Drive of video games, only with less awkward silence and more brutal violence. Get the PC version on Steam or GOG.

Muramasa Rebirth Looks BALLIN’

Sadly, I never got to finish the original Muramasa: The Demon Blade for Wii. See… at the time I was a broke and unemployed blogger (and I still am!), so I pirated a copy for my hacked Wii. Jerk move, I know, but I was (and still am) broke.

I wound up having to update the firmware on my Wii to play Xenoblade Chronicles and the update essentially un-hacked my shit. Bummer

But the good news is Marvelous AQL is releasing an updated version called Muramasa Rebirth for the PlayStation Vita. And unlike the Wii version where you had to press UP on the D+Pad to jump, there’s an honest-to-goodness jump button. TECHNOLOGY! Oh yeah, and there’s extra content and new playable characters too.

Pretty stoked for my chance to get back into this game and actually BUY a copy. Gonna’ look fresh on that OLED screen.

'Gravity Rush' Review: Falling To The Top With Style

Gravity Rush is a PlayStation Vita exclusive open world action RPG directed by Keiichiro Toyama and written by Naoko Sato - both known for their work on Siren and the first Silent Hill. It’s like Hayao Miyazaki, Solatorobo, inFAMOUS, and Crackdown had a baby. It’s also by far the best looking and most innovative game on the Vita and one of the best games of the year.

AWESOME

  • Gorgeous art direction, level design, and character designs bursting with charm and personality.
  • Intriguing story filled with a memorable cast of characters that are sure to spawn countless works of fanart, cosplay, tattoos, etc.
  • Massive open world that you’ll want to explore even after the credits roll.
  • Some of the later levels are beautifully trippy and have a clever puzzle element to them. They’re so awesome that you’ll probably wish more of the game was like this.

NOT AWESOME

  • Combat is often clunky.
  • Whack load times.
  • Abrupt ending that doesn’t really sum anything up.

Cave Report: Game Over?
A few months ago, there were reports that Cave would abandon their shooter roots for “social” games. When DoDonPachi: Saidaiohjou hit arcades, a lot of concern was quelled. But now things aren’t looking so great again. Andriasang.com reports that the company’s VP / COO / Representative Director has resigned and that the company has canceled both of their Playstation Vita games, one of them being a shmup. That’s a lot of bad news in one day. And the fact that they canceled bother their shmup and their social game for the Vita makes it sound like Cave might be packing it in altogether. Who know, but hopefully we get a 360 port of Saidaiohjou before that happens.

Good News: Mortal Kombat For Vita Will Make Chicks Walk Around In Shiny Booty Shorts. Or Something.

I feel like this trailer is the result of some dude with a camera convincing a Warner Bros. exec to let him shoot an ad for MK Vita. Then the same dude probably went to a bar or strip club and tried to convince ladies to be in his big new commercial. This chick totally fell for it.

I think the saddest part bout this trailer is the fact that there was a trailer promoting the trailer a few days ago. This whole trailers for trailers thing is getting entirely way too out of hand.

A Little Bit On The Redesigned PlayStation Vita Side: Sony Vita Pocket concept by Justin Quinn.

The Sony Playstation Vita is the next generation follow up to Sony’s PSP handheld. With its 5” OLED touch screen, rear touch pad and quad core CPU, the Vita is truly cutting edge. So far, reveiws for the Vita have been mostly positive. However, the Vita is not without its faults. A lot of people have complained about the Vita’s lack of internal memory and short battery life. Two of the best features on the Vita are its dual analog sticks and big oled screen, but these features also make the Vita’s overall size somewhat big. This is why I made my own redesign.

This design was made in 3D Studio Max. The features of the Vita “Pocket” include:

1. Same 5” OLED screen and rear touch pad.

2. Compact pocket friendly sliding screen design.

3. Chrome accents for a more premium look.

4. Longer battery life.

5. Backlit face buttons (turn on via light sensor).

6. Front camera is now 3mp, back camera is now 5mp

7. 8gb built in flash memory

I want this. Now. And kudos on the 8BG built-in memory. Lord knows the Vita needs it.

A Little Bit on The MotorStorm RC Side: Vita owners, rejoice! MotorStorm RC will be available for FREE for a limited time starting tomorrow thanks to Scion. You’ll also get a Vita exclusive custom RC version of the Scion iQ (which Scion was rad enough to let me test drive a few months back).
This game’s been getting some pretty good reviews, so it’s pretty awesome to see Sony tossing it out to us for zero bucks.

A Little Bit On The Street Fighter x Tekken Side: Pac-Man and Mega Man have been announced as playable characters exclusively for the PS3 and PS Vita versions of Street Fighter x Tekken. Not only that, but Mega Man is the weird, realistic version from the old NES box art. This game just got twelveleventybajillion times more awesome.

Katamari Damacy Coming to Vita

During this year’s Tokyo Game Show, Namco-Banda announced a new Katamari game is in the works for Sony’s upcoming PS Vita. While there’s no gameplay shown in the above video, we’re pretty sure it will involve rolling stuff up and getting huge. Dual stick handheld Katamari rolling? Don’t even act like you’re not freaking stoked.

Sony announced that the PlayStation Vita will come in a WiFi model for $250 and a WiFi/3G model for $299 this holiday season. You’ll need an AT&T contract with the 3G version, but no sort of contract pricing has been announced yet.
Just about all of the games for this look insane so far. We’ll be rolling out news and trailers as they come.
