Alien Fan Zine Xineomorph Now Taking Submissions
A buddy of mine is constructing an Alien fan zine, based off of the Alien film franchise, which includes Alien, Aliens, Alien 3, Alien: Resurrection  and Prometheus. He’s collecting different pieces of art, comics, essays, writing, and anything in between to publish a zine dedicated to the series titled Xineomorph.
Dave also needs submissions! Anyone who would like to be featured in this cool zine can email Dave directly at Xineomorph@gmail.com. Submissions are due by sometime in October. The earlier the better. Expect some of us folks at Albotas to be involved as well!

Donkey Kong, Recreated with Pop Culture

Artist BazNet has created these cool Donkey Kong re-imaginings by taking different characters of pop culture and splashing them into the original DK arcade game. Up top we’ve got Star Wars, Alien, Batman, Doctor Who, Adventure Time, and a couple of other recreations, taking the places of Mario (or Jumpman, really) and Donkey Kong, and changing the color schemes to match Hoth, the Land of Ooo, and wherever else. You can buy some of these as t-shirts from the artist’s RedBubble.

International Trailer For ‘Prometheus’ Brings On The Gooey Alien Goodness.

We’ve already seen most of this stuff, but this trailer gives a new look at some of the more Alien-ish elements of Prometheus. Is that slimy vine-looking thing a pre-evolved facehugger? Oh, Ridley Scott, why must you tease us with your secrety secretness?

Daily Graffiti: In East London, no one can hear you scream. Most likely inspired by the hype surrounding Ridley Scott’s Prometheus, this Alien piece by U.K. based graff artist Probs does H.R. Geiger’s work justice.

The epic Alien production proved that the Samurai Painting style ( No Thinking Just Movement) and offshoot of the Shaolin Shadow painting School can cover large areas with style and grace without getting caught up in indecision and monotony.  This confident application of paint shuns the status quo of run of the mill photo-realism and adopts ultimate fun as its core principle.  You should be able to see the paint strokes, the mistakes, the artists own true style and not hide behind technique and glossy reproduced image.  The spray can is king and influences the final production.

The Trailer for Prometheus is Pretty Nuts

Here’s our first full trailer for Ridley Scott’s Alien prequel, Prometheus. Now let’s just hope the actual movie lives up to the hype and sheer awesomeness of this trailer.

I’m hoping this spawns a resurgence of good big budget sci-fi flicks. And before anyone brings up Avatar, sorry, but I already saw that movie back when Disney made it and it was called Pocahontas.

A Little Bit On The Prometheus Side: Here’s a new international teaser trailer for Ridley Scott’s prequel to Alien where Charlize Theron looks like Zero Suit Samus. Prometheus hits theaters June 8th, 2012.

A Little Bit On The Sci-Fi Side: Charlize Theron totally looks like Samus Aran from the Metroid games in Ridley Scott’s Prometheus (dropping summer 2012) which ties in with the Alien universe. This pic is from the latest issue of Entertainment Weekly. Shock Till You Drop has more.
