Little Robot Sees Himself for the First Time
Technology is an exciting thing. Advancements are being made daily to bring about that futuristic world that many of us are looking forward to. However, these advancements will probably come in the form of intelligent AI rather than flying cars.

QBO, from Thecorpora Robotic Corporation, is an open source project which seeks to advance the field of AI. These little robots are pretty advanced. You can read up more on the blog which is fascinating.
QBO seems to be able to learn images and match them. While this technology has been around for a few years, it is great to see it being implemented like this.
The future looks bright.

Join Zeon! Fantastic Gundam Propaganda Poster
Great art from Nick McLean. Could you imagine a Gundam MMO similar to that of Star Wars Galaxies where the factions actually mattered? A guy can dream.
All I know is we need more Gundam stuff in the East.

Tallest Robot Lantern in the World Exists
This isn’t a Gundam or a real/fake robot. It’s just a lantern. Just a sweet ass 12 meter tall, 2.5 light up massive robot lantern. It’s the tallest robot lantern in existence, and it’s being stood up in Shuzhou, China. And it’s pretty damn cool.

The Singularity Is Nigh: LEGO Tachikoma

You know your race is doomed when Ghost in the Shell robots start rolling down the street. Peer Krueger built this crazy thing and made a really cool video of it wishing it were a race car. If enough people vote here a DIY kit of the Tachikoma will go into production. I’d be surprised if legal / licensing issues didn’t pop up first, though.

Robot Deer!
This interesting piece of mammalian machinery consists entirely of typewriter parts. It’s a pretty sweet piece, and it was constructed by Jeremy Mayer, an artist with more fantastic looking sculptures located on his site.
You should definitely look at his stuff; it’s all a little bit on the awesome side.
see what I did there?
