Tons of Stuff from Rotobox and KusoVinyl

Can’t add a full-sized Rotobox custom to your collection? No worries. Rotobox will be customizing a bunch of their Minicel figures, basing their designs on super robot pilots. You can pre-order them for $120 each up until this coming Sunday by emailing info ~at~ rotoboxvinylanatomica.com. Once these are gone, they’ll never be reproduced, so if you see one you like, snatch it up.

On a related note, Rotobox and Kusovinyl will be releasing the Minicel as a DIY platform. Each one comes with a bunch of weapons. They’ll be available starting tomorrow at KusoVinyl.com.

Finally, if you missed out on Darth Pon during SDCC ‘13, you can pick one up tomorrow, also at KusoVinyl.com.

A Little Bit on Rotobox Vinyl Anatomica

image

Rotobox Vinyl Anatomica is the intersection of giant robots and custom designer toys. But this team isn’t just about the robots. Their customs are reinterpretations of classic Japanese and American pop culture icons from Gachaman to Ironman. With an incredible amount of attention to detail and extensive use of self-fabricated parts, Rotobox are at the top of the customizing scene.

Valkyrie VF-1J Mega Munny from Rotobox

Yes, that’s a transforming Mega Munny up there. Rotobox’s latest custom is their own take on the Valkyrie ships from Macross. The 1982 anime paved the way for thousands of transforming robots. The series is unique because the robots (and this custom) had three transformation stages - the humanoid Battroid mode, the intermediate Gerwalk mode, and the jet-like Fighter mode. It’s impressive when a super articulated Revoltech figure can transform like a Macross mech, so this custom is especially mind-blowing.

Rotobox Akuma Celsius Custom

Rotobox are bringing the Shodo magic with their newest custom. Using the Celsius platform, they’ve recreated one of the best bad guys in all of videogames: Akuma from Street Fighter. The one-off project has custom fabricated hair and accessories, and the sparkly paint used for his gi is fiercer than a Raging Demon. Stay tuned for our interview with Rotobox.

Albotip: Akuma is known as Gouki in Japan.

Two New Customs from Rotobox

Rotobox have just released two new killer customs. The first is a Celsius version of Spider-Man 2099 which has an awesome metallic blue paint job and fierce arm stabbies. The second is another Qee version of Voltron. At first glance it’s pretty similar to Rotobox’s previous take on Voltron, but check it out and you’ll see some great new details, especially the logo on his lion belly.

Rotobox continue their stunning customization work with this tribute to Combattler Godaikin toy. True to the original, this Qee version combines five pieces to form the full robot. It’s a one-off and has already been sold, but you can still drool at all the photos here.
Albotip: The “V” in “Combattler V” is pronounced like the letter (as opposed to “five”) and stands for “Victory.”
