Star Wars Watches From Seiko
Japanese watch manufacturer Seiko just unleashed the fury of their new Star Wars collection upon the unsuspecting masses. The R2-D2 display with hi-res display is pretty fresh, but if you’d rather wear your geek pride on your sleeve in a way that doesn’t scream “Hey! Look at me! I LOVE GEEK SHIT!,” the other designs are a bit more subtle. There’s Darth Vader, a Stormtrooper, Yoda, and C-3PO, all ranging from $1739 to $1805 USD.
A Little Bit On The Star Wars Action Figure Mashup Side: Daft Troopers and The Siths, Star Wars tributes to Daft Punk and The Smiths by house music.
Daily Graffit: Stormtroopers like graffiti too. Spotted by essichgurgn.
A Little Bit On The Fashionable Side: John Woo (not the director) is a designer and illustrator from Hong Kong who throws geekiness and high fashion into a blender to make a delicious cocktail dubbed the “He Wears” series. Get prints of everyone from Edward Scissorhands to Darth Vader wearing outfits from Number (N)ine, Thom Browne, A.P.C., Supreme, and other assorted labels.
Limited to editions of 100, each 13”x19” print comes signed and numbered. Get them on Etsy for $60.
Daily Graffiti: Reservoir Dogs, Imperial Edition
Pic taken by Jeff Hester who says:
It’s unusual to see street art in San Clemente. Having recently watched “Exit Through the Gift Shop” (worth watching) this captured my eye.
I spied it on a temporary construction fence (how very “safe” for a street artist) for the new fire station/senior center (weird combo?) behind the Starbucks on El Camino.
I like the juxtaposition of the Reservoir Dogs and Star Wars Stormtroopers.
Daily Geekstomization: STORM TROOPER QEE by bernice01 on deviantART.
From the artist:
i used a DIY QEE, sharpie marker, pentel pen, tamiya paint, spraypaint, scotch tape, and a random blaster from some other toy! hehe!! its my first custom and i love it though i know it could have been neater..
Star Wars Typography Posters.
These were made Matteo Civaschi and Gianmarco Milesi of Milan-based ad agency H-57 Creative Station. Each poster even lists what characters and fonts were used.
This inspired me to make my own typographic version of the Death Star. Check it:
O <——This is the Death Star (from really far away).
Pretty rad, right?
Remember that scene in EPISODE IV where that door’s opening up and a Stormtrooper totally bangs his head on it by accident? Favorite STAR WARS moment ever.
