A Little Bit On The Jet Set Radio Side: Fuck. Yes.
A Little Bit On The Killer Sushi Side: From Noboru Iguchi — the dude who brought you The Machine Girl — comes an ultra violent flick about killer sushi that could only come from Japan. This trailer for Dead Sushi promises “Sushi Action!”, “Sushi Erotica!” and “Sushi Violence!”. And there’s a girl named High Kick Girl in it. Thank you, Japan.

A Little Bit On The Live Action Akira Side: While the Warner Bros. adaptation may be on hold, French director Fabien Dubois has taken it upon himself to slaughter the classic by casting a generic white dude as a version of Tetsuo who wears a bootleg version of Kaneda’s jacket. Does no one get this movie?

A Little Bit On The Prometheus Side: Here’s a new international teaser trailer for Ridley Scott’s prequel to Alien where Charlize Theron looks like Zero Suit Samus. Prometheus hits theaters June 8th, 2012.

A Little Bit On The Trippy Sci-Fi Side: This trailer for Beyond The Black Rainbow is like what would happen if Stanley Kubrick dropped mad acid and directed his own remixed film adaptation of the Portal games.
Beyond the Black Rainbow, written and directed by Panos Cosmatos, is a Reagan-era fever dream inspired by hazy childhood memories of midnight movies and Saturday morning cartoons. Cosmatos brings a bold, Kubrickian vision to the screen in stunning detail in this sci-fi fable of a young woman imprisoned in an experimental laboratory and the enigmatic scientist who is her captor. Set in a futuristic 1983, Elena finds herself held against her will in a mysterious facility under the watchful eye of the sinister Dr. Barry Nyle. Pushed to her limits, Elena is left with no choice but to navigate an escape from her labyrinthine prison, in the process revealing its hidden secrets.
Idunno about you guys, but this is the first trailer since Moon that’s had me this pumped for an honest-to-goodness, non-CG-filled science fiction flick.

A Little Bit On The Violent Chinese Cinema Side: China’s highest grossing film, Let The Bullets Fly, hits select U.S. theaters and On Demand starting March 2nd. It sort of reminds me of Kung Fu Hustle, only replace martial arts with pumping fools full of lead and add a dash of Chow Yun-fat.

A Little Bit On The Amazing Spider-Man Side: Surprisingly, this trailer looks less like the 2002 Spider-Man than expected. Dare I say it actually looks kind of awesome!
A Little Bit On The Resident Evil: Operation Raccoon City Side: Here’s an all new gameplay trailer highlighting each new playable character from the US Government Spec Ops squad and U.S.S. (Umbrella Security Service) and their skill sets. I’m almost embarrassed by the fact that there’s a character named Party Girl, but the scene at the 2:20 mark where zombie cops are shuffling out of the R.C.P.D. entrance made me squeal.
Clear your calendars because March 20th is the day you’ll spend shotgunning zombies in the face.
A Little Bit On The Eastbound & Down Side: Kenny Powers returns February 19 on HBO in Eastbound & Down Season 3. Crude, vulgar, and mildly racist humor await. Admit it, you’re stoked.
‘Scuse me while I go work on my sweet base tan.
A Little Bit On The Game Of Thrones Season 2 Side: Oh, hey! If you dig cool things that are neat, check out this trailer for the second season of Game of Thrones. I totally got chills at the “a very small man can cast a very large shadow” part.
Big ups to Marty for sending this our way!
A Little Bit on the iOS Side: So here it is: the trailer of Cave’s newest iOS shooter. If it looks familiar, that’s because it is. It’s a port of 2002’s DoDonPachi: Dai Ou Jou. The game is super challenging - I think I’ve only gotten to the fourth level boss - so you better buy insurance for your iThing before playing this and throwing your phone at the wall. It will be out next month.

A Little Bit On The Pokemon Samurai Side: For years I’ve been saying it’d be awesome to have a Pokemon game set in the samurai times, but this isn’t quite what I was thinking. Still, it looks pretty okay. Pokemon + Nobunaga’s Ambition is the lazily-titled crossover between Nintendo’s Pokemon and Koei’s Nobunaga’s Ambition.
I love how the developers behind this were like “Fuck it, this shit’s gonna’ sell no matter what, so let’s just throw a plus sign in between the two franchises and make it the title!”
Seriously though, this ish looks pretty fresh. Please come to the states, k?

A Little Bit On The Resident Evil 6 Side: Holy shit! Zombies are back! Real ones, not that Las Plagas hoopla. This is everything Resident Evil is supposed to be and more.
Press Release:
SAN MATEO, Calif. — Jan. 19, 2012 — Capcom®, a leading worldwide developer and publisher of video games, is very proud to announce that Resident Evil® 6 is in full development and scheduled for release on the Xbox 360 ® video game and entertainment system from Microsoft and PlayStation®3 computer entertainment system on November 20, 2012 with a Windows PC version to follow. Blending action and survival horror, this latest instalment in the multi-million selling franchise is the most ambitious, immersive and feature rich title of the series to date and promises to be the dramatic horror experience of the year.
It has been ten years since the Raccoon City incident and the President of the United States has decided to reveal the truth behind what took place in the belief that it will curb the current resurgence in bioterrorist activity. Due to be by the President’s side is his personal friend and Raccoon City survivor, Leon S. Kennedy, but when the venue suffers a bioterrorist attack, Leon is forced to face a President transformed beyond recognition and make his hardest ever decision. At the same time, Bioterrorism Security Assessment Alliance member Chris Redfield arrives in China, itself under threat of a bioterrorist attack. With no country safe from these attacks and the ensuing outbreaks, the entire world’s population is united by a common fear that there is no hope left.
In a first for the franchise, Resident Evil 6 sees series favorites Leon and Chris come together to face this unprecedented threat. They will be joined by new characters, each with their own unique perspective and involvement, in this relentless dramatic horror experience enacted on a global scale.
“Resident Evil 6 represents a giant stride forward in the evolution of the series,” commented Katsuhiko Ichii, Head of R&D and Global Marketing. “The development team, led by Hiroyuki Kobayashi, is working tirelessly to deliver the most impressive Resident Evil® title ever both in terms of scope and production values. We are all genuinely excited by the title and cannot wait to share it with the world.”
Hiroyuki Kobayashi, Resident Evil 6 Executive Producer added: “From the outset the team’s intention was to create an experience that delivers a gripping storyline, tense single-player and co-op action all set against a constant theme of horror. We are calling this fusion dramatic horror and are confident it will resonate with both existing fans of the series as well as newcomers.”
A Little Bit On The Street Fighter X Tekken Side: Capcom announced six new characters from the SFxT roster today. Street Fighter’s Balrog, Vega and Juri join Tekken’s Paul, Law, and Xiayou.
I’m sure the fighting game community has their collective fingers crossed in hopes that Eddie Gordo will absolutely NOT be in this game. I’d personally like to see Gon make an appearance, but I’m sure it’ll never happen.

A Little Bit On The Code of Princess Side: If you own a 3DS, Code of Princess is a game you might want to keep your eyes on. It’s a beat-‘em-up action RPG with a world and characters designed by Nishimura Kinu, famous for Street Fighter characters. I’m particularly fond of the Egyptian cat-pharoa dude.
As if that weren’t enough, this is being developed by the original Guardian Heroes team! If none of this has you pumped, you probably made it to this site by accident.
